This is an APA like they used to be; delicious and really well balanced. Subtle but decent bready kind of malty undertones giving it a nice full body, and layered over that are subtle but decent fruity hop notes and a nice bitterness.  The beer isn't quite as fruity and aromatic as the label suggests, but I think that's actually a good thing - putting Cassels as another craft brewery in NZ that makes good balanced beers that aren't ridiculous on the hops and only the hops.
