Lakeman Hairy Juice West Coast IPA

I think this is bang on for a West Coast IPA - Huge hops flavours, fairly subtle bitterness and not much malt at all. The hops flavours are delicious I got maybe a bit of pineapple, and a big tropical vibe (Mabo). It might be part of the style but I felt the malt was a little underdone, feeling a bit light and lacking richness for all the hoppy flavours. But the smell was incredible.

ABV: 6.7%
Brewery: Lakeman
Region: Taupō
Style: West Coast IPA
Wife check: "The smell puts me off. Is it a bit spicy? I like the taste but there's not much depth."
