Behemoth Thelma & Louise Hazy IPA
Most of the great hazies are all very similar, but this guy was pretty spectacular. A delicious and almost fresh tasting powerful hop character. Citra - the massivest hop of ten years ago, and Mosaic - the massivest hop of today. Both from the US (and so surely not fresh hopped in an NZ beer, even though it kind of tastes like fresh plants) and both hops deliver a delicious and unique character. I don't know how much they had to put in to get the beer tasting this good, but whatever they did, it's bloody good. The guys at brulosophy and some other research suggests that there's a "dry hop saturation point", that going beyond about 8g of hops per litre of beer doesn't add anything- but I reckon this beer would be well over that, and that it definitely adds something... But who knows. I'd say there's also a good bit of oats and wheat, but you almost don't even give it a thought under all those delicious hops. Perhaps the best NEIPA/Hazy I've had.
