Kereru Apex Hoppy Gluten Free APA
Gluten free "beer" made without barley had me intrigued but a bit uncertain. Cracked it open - it looks like beer, and it smells like beer... And it tastes very much like beer! I guess the malt flavour was the thing I was most interested in, but that was all second to a good APA style hopping with nice kind of mango flavours coming through.
The malt body is very much like an XPA (or "session" IPA if you prefer), being very subtle and light bodied, but if I didn't know it was alternate grains (rice and millet or something if I recall?) I would have just assumed it was a deliberately light bodied barley malt profile. Great option for any Coeliacs, or other Gluten-Freebies (see clip - love this).
