Lakeman Primate Pilsner

I've been a bit undecided about NZ Pilsners recently with some showcasing NZ hops but not being at all like a true Czech Pilsner, and others not really showcasing NZ hops.

This one seems to have the balance right - from the first swig it's unmistakably a pilsner with a clean crisp flavour, a decent bitterness, and an earthy grist reminiscent but not entirely like a Pilsner Urqell (love those Czech Saaz hops). But with all that there's also unmistakably kiwi hop flavours smoating about giving it a bit of a distinctive twist. More bitter than most NZ Pilsners, but not as bitter as a Czech Pilsner, which I really enjoyed. I think this is probably my favourite NZ Pilsner...
