8 Wired Super Conductor Double IPA

I do love a good strong bitter double IPA; and I never thought I'd ever say that an IPA is too bitter... but this beer was bit too bitter for me. I think the hop aromatics and the sweet and chewy caramel (the two other bits of the trio of a great double IPA) are completely lost under the bitterness. It smells amazing with a nice tropical kind of hop aroma (NZ or US hops? I can't tell) but I didn't really get any of that flavour - if it's there I think it's masked by the bitterness. The aftertaste had a hop-plant bitterness that was almost overwhelming. Bummer.
