8 Wired iStout Imperial Stout

The first beer to devirginise my new Spiegelau Stout Glass, this imperial stout is a whopping delicious mouthful of flavours. Exactly what an imperial stout should be, where the texture and for lack of of a better word overall "feel" is so powerful that focussing on the individual flavours seems pointless. Poured with a nice foamy head giving off whafts of coffee, chocolate (and beer). First mouthful was kind of just a "whoa..." and really took a few slugs to appreciate what was going on. The high alcohol fits perfectly with the huge flavour, making it something to be slowly sipped rather than slogged down. A very mild bitterness, less so than a Guiness, but morseso that a typical milk stout for example, a delicious creaminess that takes you to chocolate and coffee towns without a doubt, but maybe also to lammington or self-saucing-chocolate-pudding kind of places. A very yum beer.
