Urbanaut Roxbury Hazy IPA
A delicious and very "to style" NEIPA, with a huge hoppy fruity tropical aroma and flavour, a thick smooth texture (showing off wheat and oats) and a complete lack of bitternesss and specialty malt flavours. Ugly as hell with a thick beige colour and a hint of green coming through from a good dry hopping without filtering, just as a hazy should be. Really quite yum, but I happened to have it after a week alcohol-free, and it probably drove home the fact that NEIPA/Hazy is not my style of hoppy beer. It actually left me longing for a good bitterness and some chewy caramel crystal roasty bready maltiness.
So the long and short is that this was a good yum beer that I enjoyed, and more or less bang on for style, but it confirmed that is just not a style that I love like a good IPA/APA (or imperial IPA!!) - (preferably with NZ hops).
ABV: 6.0%
Brewery: Urbanaut Brewing Co
Region: Auckland
Style: NEIPA (Hazy IPA)
Wife check: "I could feel it going all the way through my insides." (I think this was more a reflection of my wife's madness than the beer)
