Hallertau #1 Kölsch
I did have to do a quick google to remind myself what a Kölsch is. It's a German Ale from Köln (Cologne) which is I guess a lager-style ale. There is a Köln law about what defines a true Kölsch, in addition to the German Purity Law (reinheitsgeboht).
A nice drop from Hallertau. A beer that tastes German from the first drop, being crisp and clean, a noble old-world hop character and perhaps ever so slightly heavier than a German lager. I enjoyed it.

Wife check abandoned as she'd had her teeth whitened, and was only allowed white things (although I'm not sure the white wine she's drinking is much whiter than this guy)
