Fortune Favours Wellingtonian IPA
(Whoa, I just realised it was Fourtune Favours not Fortune Flavours!)
This is the first big hoppy pale ale I've had in a long time that has a really unique flavour without having any bizzare ingredients or techniques. I assume it's mainly the Wai-iti hops, a relatively new NZ variety. A nicely balanced pale ale, quite pale in colour with a reasonably mild malt undertone but an absolutely massive fruity smell and taste to follow. Apricots and peaches I get (wife got apple and cinnamon!).
Delicious and impressive beer. Fortune Favours have quite cool branded IPA glasses too (not the one in the photo). And I like their artwork and marketing; very Wellington.
