Brave Brewing Tigermilk IPA

I've spent six months in Hawke's Bay, and in my opinion Brave is hands down the best brewery in the region. Their Tigermilk IPA seems to be one of their most popular brews, and with good reason. It's a hoppy beer with a good balance of bitterness and a whopping aroma to deliver a full demonstration of what hops should be about in modern Kiwi beer.

Today I had it on tap, as you can see below it had a good head, and I have to say the sudsy texture of the first few sips did enhance the experience. There is enough of a malty backbone to balance the hoppiness, but the malt isn't by any means the star of the show. The smell and flavour scream hops, and not in an overwhelming way, but with just the right amount of pungent deliciousness.

Overall, I really like it, and it's a star modern New Zealand made IPA. I like the marketing too.
