Tuatara Hazy Pale Ale
In general I'm not a huge fan of the New England (Hazy) IPAs, although I do admit I've had a couple that are delicious. In general, I've found that the more (oxymoron warning) mainstream craft breweries don't make particularly good ones. Disclaimer - I do love Tuatara, I had a great bonding session with my brother in law at their brewery tour as a birthday present many years ago (perhaps before I had kids?), that involved a stumble home along the beach, some stolen pint glasses, and some other unexpected incidents.
Anyway, back to the beer. I like the honesty in the label - suggesting that at least some of the folk at Tuatara don't really like NEIPA/Hazies either. But overall I think they've got it pretty right. It's not ridiculously amazingly hoppy like some I've had, but it does carry a fair weight of punch. It has no bitterness (only 27 IBU apparently), and fairly true to the buzzword "juicy" that everyone likes to throw at these beers. It's definitely hazy when poured. Overall it's quite nice and drinkable, but I'd rather a pilsner or a pale ale to be honest.
